Salford get Joey Lussick over the line

Salford Red Devils are delighted to confirm the signing of Joey Lussick for the remainder of the 2018 season.
Lussick made a try-scoring NRL debut last year for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles against St George Illawarra Dragons whilst regular featuring for their feeder team – Blacktown – over the past two seasons.
The hooker has also featured for Australian Schoolboys in 2013 and spent time with Parramatta Eels’ NYC team before moving to Sydney Roosters where he graduated to the Roosters’ Intrust Super Premiership NSW team – Wyong Roos.
Head Coach Ian Watson said: “Joey is a strong player to add to our group at this time as he can cover all our spinal positioners and is a dominant organiser around the ruck with good deception and a great kicking game.
“He’s played Australian schoolboys with Jackson [Hastings], played at the Roosters with Jackson and at Manly with him so the combinations that normally take time to develop will already be there with a solid connection which will be a massive plus for us.
“He will add some solid support alongside Josh Wood at this moment in time. He made a try-scoring NRL debut for Manly last season with a clever acting halfback play and has been a standout performer for Manly’s feeder team – Blacktown.
“He is always high on the tackle count and really strong in defence. We’re looking forward to welcoming Joey into the side for the remainder of the season.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease, said: “We are delighted to bring Joey in for the remainder of the 2018 season.
“We’ve had some tremendous help from our sponsors and loyal fans who have helped to partially fund this move. I’d like to personally thank everyone who has donated their hard-earned cash for this and it really just displays the spirit of Salford and the strength of the Club as we move into this very important stage of the season.
“Joey is a player who has played a lot of rugby with our other new signing – Jackson Hastings – and I’m really excited to see both of them in action.”
