After Rivals Round success against Leigh Leopards, attentions have firmly switched to another crucial Betfred Super League clash versus Castleford Tigers.
Paul Rowley’s side were made to work hard for the two points, but after back-to-back defeats, it was crucial the Red Devils got back on track.
Ken Sio, Sam Stone, Brodie Croft and Tyler Dupree were all on the scoresheet, with Salford edging a thrilling contest 20-22.
Today’s mouthwatering meeting – live on Sky Sports – sees us face a Castleford Tigers side, buoyed by victory against Wakefield Trinity last Thursday.
Here’s everything you need to know before this one…
SQUAD NEWS
After winning returns for Andy Ackers and Joe Burgess last week, the squad was boosted even further this week with the the return of Oliver Partington.
Our number 13 has been out for an extended period of time with a knee injury, but after re-joining full training for over a week now, he is raring to go against Andy Last’s side.
Other than Partington’s inclusion, the squad is identical to Rivals Round, so Rowley and his coaching staff will be hoping to build a steady side in the next few weeks.

ROWLEY’S PREVIEW
Earlier this week, our Head Coach faced the press to discuss a multitude of different topics.
The return of Partington was – of course – on the agenda, but Rowley also gave his thoughts on the upcoming international break, Chris Atkin’s versatility and how he expects Castleford to cause us problems on Thursday.
Rowley began: “I think they will come here as all teams do and have a real dig. They obviously had a close encounter against Catalans, then got a good confidence-boosting win against Wakefield Trinity.
“So, what I always feel about Castleford is that they’ve got some really good rugby players – people like Paul McShane, in particular.
“Gaz Widdop is there now, Jacob Miller – they’re good footballers, they can read a game really well and they understand it. So they’ll pose some challenges and it’ll be a tough game.”
