Salford Red Devils are looking to recruit a Head of Youth to lead the club’s Youth and Academy programmes. The club has recently been awarded a RFL Elite Academy Licence and are looking to recruit to this key post.
Key Responsibilities for the role:-
- Overall responsibility for the leadership of the club’s Academy programme, designing and delivering a high performing programme.
- Creation of a youth development strategy in-line with the club’s ambitions and overall club strategy.
- Responsible for budget management of the Academy programme.
- Overseeing the development plan of the Salford Red Devils Academy
- Member of the Academy Executive Management group.
- Line manager to the club’s Academy staff
- Management of the pathway transition process into and out of the Academy, with clear induction and exit programmes.
- Supporting the Head Coach to develop a rugby philosophy, a thread which will run throughout the club – Foundation, youth and first teams.
- Manage the recruitment strategy into the Academy.
- Developing a scouting team, network and structure, with all relevant processes in place
- Developing a coach education programme for all Pathway and Community Coaches
- Responsible for the club’s Diploma in Sporting Excellence programme.
- Ensure effective communication between all appropriate stakeholders within the club.
Additional responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the Club Academy audit process
- To be committed to leading the Club’s Red Thread values
- Developing relationships with Pathway staff and community clubs
- Such other duties as may be required from time to time by the Board of Directors, Head Coach and Director of Rugby.
Knowledge skills and experience:
- Possess a minimum of RFL Level 3 coaching qualification
- Experience of working within professional Rugby League
- Experience within youth development and player progression
- A strong network within Rugby League at all levels
- Excellent organisational, administrative and presenting skills
- Appropriate IT skills in a range of packages including Microsoft Word, Excel etc
- Excellent leadership skills
- Passionate, enthusiastic and driven to succeed
