DEON CROSS WINS SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

You have voted Deon Cross as September’s Player of the Month.

The winger has capped a fantastic season by picking up the final individual award on offer, fending close competition from teammates, Joe Mellor and Ethan Ryan.

Cross overtakes Marc Sneyd (2) to become the only Salford player in 2024 to win this award for a third time, following his triumphs in May and June.

He has also finished the campaign as the Club’s joint top try scorer, with only Nene Macdonald matching the 28-year-old’s total of 12.

That tally was completed with tries against Catalans Dragons and Hull FC across September – the former a crucial score in a tight game against the French outfit.

Despite spending his first two years as a Red Devils at centre, he has quickly found his home back out on the wing and will be raring to go again in 2025.

On his September success, Cross has said: “Thank you once again to the fans who voted for me.

“It is always nice to pick up these individual accolades, but the team have achieved so much this season and it speaks volumes that we were devastated to not reach the latter stages of the playoffs.

“Now it’s time to rest and get ready for 2025 – see you all next year!”

We’d like to congratulate Deon on his well deserved award.
