THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

“We’re in it together – win or lose” – Paul Rowley

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley believes he, his staff and all the players are determined to create a winning culture at the club, despite falling to a 48-16 defeat against Hull FC last Saturday.

After winning their opening two Betfred Super League fixtures, the Red Devils were looking to maintain their excellent run of form with a trip to the MKM Stadium.

It was a disappointing result, but speaking to the press after the game, Paul Rowley was quick to remind everyone that creating a winning culture takes time and is a process he and his staff are committed to implementing within the squad.

Rowley said: “They’re not quick fixes, because they’re trends. Winning is a way of life and to become a winner that’s what you do in life, it’s not something you can just make up on the bounce.

“It’s about the badge, sometimes the badge brings the best out of you – not offer you an excuse to drop off and give in.”

The head coach was adamant that having the opportunity to represent Salford should be reason enough to give 100%.

He continued: “So, our job as staff is to make sure that the Salford badge is a reason to work harder and is a reason to be more resilient and ultimately, if we do them things, it’ll be a reason to win and it’ll bring the best out of everybody.

“We’re not there yet, we’re trying to change the culture and I’m driven to do that, the staff are driven to do that, and I know the players are too so we’re really working hard, we’re in it together – win or lose.”

Despite defeat against Hull, Salford have still enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign and will look to continue that when they travel to the John Smith Stadium to take on Huddersfield Giants on Sunday. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.

Our Round 4 opponents are also the side we will be facing at this year’s Magic Weekend in Newcastle.  Join us at St James’ Park on Sunday 10th July, by purchasing a ticket HERE.
