Salford Red Devil’s Magic Weekend two-try hero Daniel Vidot was quick to dedicate the Devils’ comeback win in Newcastle to Joshua ‘Super Josh’ Wilson, the teenage Salford fan who passed away after touching the hearts of the entire club with his bravery in the face of serious illness.
The Red Devils special Magic Weekend shirt bore the logo of the charitable foundation set up by Josh’s family and the day was always set to be an emotional one.
Although Vidot never met Super Josh he was quick to point out that the two points were dedicated to him.
“We were very happy to get the win for him and the atmosphere was amazing.
“We went in (4-14 behind) at half time and talked about getting ourselves back into the grind and we came out and got ourselves back into it in the second half.
“Everybody was delighted to get the win obviously and for me I’m happy to be back on the field playing footy and getting closer to being fully fit every week.
“It’s a work in progress and I’m just glad to be out there with the boys.
“I am so happy to score my first points for the team and it was an awesome place to do it at!”
You can see Daniel Vidot back in action when the Devils take on the Wildcats at the The Salford Stadium next Friday night 8pm.
