You have voted Sam Hill as June’s Player of the Month.
The winger has fought off stern competition from a regular nominee, Jack Ormondroyd, and star centre, Esan Marsters, who both also deserve commendations for their performances.
However, it is the youthful exuberance of Hill who has captured the Salford faithful with his brave displays since his senior debut.
A product of local community club, Salford Roosters, the 18-year-old was called into the first grade squad who faced Wigan Warriors at the end of May, and went onto make two appearances across June.
The first of which, against St Helens, he produced a moment of genius to get Salford on the scoreboard. Collecting a drop-out, he chipped the ball over the onrushing defence and used his speed to gather it first. From that set, the Reds created the numbers on the right and allowed Hill to dot down a try he’ll never forget.
On picking up the award, Hill said: “Being a local lad, it’s a great honour to play for this club and to be recognised by our great fans!”
Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Sam on his award!
