We are excited to confirm Salford Youth Zone (SYZ) will be taking over our next home Betfred Super League clash against the Wigan Warriors.
Youth charity, Empower, will be raising awareness for its impressive new site, Salford Youth Zone, set to open its doors seven days a week from June, 2nd.
SYZ provides thousands of young people somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to; with more than 20 activities on offer every session for young people aged eight to 19, or up to 25 for those with an additional need or disability.
Salford Red Devils have already been proudly supporting the Empower charity across both HideOut Youth Zone and the new Salford Youth Zone, through providing complimentary game tickets, transportation support and enriching opportunities for young members.
Ahead of our game with the Warriors on Friday, May 30th, a pop-up stall in the fan zone will allow supporters to learn about the work of SYZ, with opportunities to sign-up for a membership and get involved with activations.
Make sure to buy tickets for the game by clicking here.
If you’re thinking of attending the game in hospitality, there will be plenty of literature on tables and posters in snap frames containing QR codes for more information.
And just as you start to enter the stadium bowl, you’ll notice the players will be sporting a specially-designed warm-up tee, recently launched in collaboration with SYZ and VX3 apparel.
A few months ago, the charity launched a competition for young people to design a warm-up tee for the team to wear before our meeting with the Warriors.
After being inundated with submissions, they were whittled down to a final three and a winner was chosen – the design by brother and sister duo, Jess and Sam Henn.
Like last year, young people from SYZ will be taking part in a half-time challenge, with a representative from the charity also interviewed on the field about the charities’ exciting new facility.
On their activations surrounding the takeover day, Joe Amos, Head of Youth Work and Partnerships at SYZ, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be part of the Salford Red Devils Takeover Game once again – we had such a fantastic time last year, and it’s amazing to see the position we’re in now, with Salford Youth Zone having grown from a vision into a reality.
“It’s a brilliant opportunity to show the community exactly what Salford Youth Zone is all about. With our membership now open, we can’t wait to welcome young people through our doors and continue building strong, lasting connections across the Salford community.”
Everyone at Salford Red Devils are really excited to have Salford Youth Zone back at another matchday and fully support the incredible work they carry out in the local community.
