ROWLEY SAYS WARRINGTON PERFORMANCE IS ‘SOMETHING TO BUILD ON’

Head Coach, Paul Rowley says his team’s performance in yesterday’s defeat to Warrington Wolves is ‘something to build on’ for the rest of 2025.

Despite suffering a 16th league defeat of the season, the Reds produced an admirable display of courage, determination and signs that things could be moving in the right direction.

With an ever-changing line-up, it must be difficult for players to form connections on the field, but there were certainly some signs yesterday that our attacking play was feeling that little bit smoother.

Helped, of course, with Rowley’s ability to field the halfback combination of Jayden Nikorima and on-loan Danny Richardson for their second consecutive game.

Analysing the game in his post-match, our Head Coach told the press: “Well I said a couple of weeks ago I thought there were some green shoots against Hull; we had a great first-half and then got overwhelmed in that second-half.

“But I thought today we hung in. It’s probably as good a performance as we’ve had. Obviously, we’re disappointed to lose the game, but I thought we competed.

“We wouldn’t be walking out anything embarrassed if we’d won the game, because I thought it was quite evenly matched for most of the game, to be honest.

“I thought there were some really good things from us – we dominated territory in the first-half. But full credit to Warrington, they got the job done and that’s all it’s about sometimes.

“It’s something for us to work with and build on – there were some real positives in there. We’ll go again, and it’s a good place to come to work with some positivity next week.”
