Head Coach, Paul Rowley has reflected on a tough afternoon for his team at Magic Weekend in the North-East.
League leaders, Hull KR were the victors on Saturday’s second game at St James’ Park, winning 52-0 after a dominant second-half display.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Rowley said: “Hull KR are obviously a great side and they’re in a rich vain of form. We had some late disruption with (Chris) Hankinson and (Ryan) Brierley in particular – 7pm last night the Brierley one.
“A bit of a reshuffle, but it’s just another tough day at the office, but like they’ve done every week, they kept battling to the end and Hull KR were very good.”
On the fitness of his team after a physical encounter, he continued: “I think we came through alright. There were some positive things in there, but we’re not doing enough things consistently as a team, which is understandable.
“It’s been difficult with players coming and going, a lot of new players who don’t know the structures. And it’s generally them sort of things, the processes that are letting us down a bit.
“We’re not the biggest team as well and like i said before, credit to Hull KR, they did what they needed to do, but our boys they keep fighting.”
