Head Coach, Paul Rowley says he has been impressed by the consistency of young Nathan Connell through a period of uncertainty.
The versatile fullback has perhaps seen more minutes than expected in 2025, but he has grasped the opportunity with both hands.
Playing predominantly on the wing, there are certainly signs that Connell is adapting to the physical side of the Betfred Super League, with his catalogue of technical ability never in question.
Results on the field have not gone Salford’s way, with constant changes to the squad having a huge impact on performance, but the spirit of the group has remained unbroken.
Speaking to the press before tomorrow’s clash with Wigan Warriors, Rowley said: “I think Nathan Connell has been fantastic – I’m impressed by his resilience really.
“He came in probably as a training number, he wouldn’t have got this level of consistent performances or consistently in the team if it wasn’t for this situation.
“But now he’s here he’s absolutely earning his position and he’s established himself as a really consistent player. I’ve been impressed by his toughness, how he applies himself in training has put himself in a position to handle the week-to-week (rigours) of Super League
“So it’s been a huge shock to his system, but he had a really tough pre-season and handled it brilliantly. He’s studious, works hard and he deserves the accolades you and I are giving him now.”
