Head Coach, Paul Rowley is expecting a physical encounter against a highly-decorated St Helens this Sunday.
After a week to rest and recover, the Reds are ready to attack the next block of Betfred Super League fixtures, with four of the next five encounters coming at the Salford Community Stadium.
First on that list is the ten-time champions, Saints, who are looking to build momentum and secure playoff rugby come the end of September.
The Red Devils do actually have a positive home record against this weekend’s opposition, with Chris Hankinson’s try – voted 2025’s best – the difference in last year’s tussle.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, our Head Coach was keen to point out that despite shaky results at present, the history and heritage of Saints’ success counts for a lot.
“Saints are a club that’s held high standards ever since I remember being involved in rugby league,” he began.
“They’re a club and a team that are never too far away from trophies, and if they’re not filling their trophy cabinet with silverware, then they’re disappointed.
“They’ve got high standards, high expectations and in contrast, we’re a club that’s certainly perceived as vulnerable at the minute, for understandable reasons, and rightly so.
“I would expect Saints to show no mercy and come for our throat – and we’d want nothing else to be honest. It’s always a difficult fixture and a physical encounter and it will be no different this time.”
