Salford Red Devils fell to a 40-4 defeat away to Hull KR this evening in Round 9 of the Betfred Super League.
A promising opening 15 minutes that saw Salford take the lead was not built on and three first-half tries followed by a strong performance in the second forty ensured a win for the Robins.
Salford Winger Ken Sio marked his 200th career appearance with a try in the right corner after five minutes, getting onto the end of a clever grubber kick by Tui Lolohea.
Half-way into the second forty, George Lawler bundled over under the sticks for the host and Ben Crooks then extended the Robins’ lead in the 23rd minute, diving over in the right corner.
Five minutes before the interval, Brad Takairangi added to Hull KR’s lead to the left of the sticks after breaching the Salford line with a neat kick and following it up by grounding the ball.

Two minutes into the second half, Jordan Abdull converted a penalty goal in front of the sticks to add another two points to his side’s lead.
Just after the hour mark, Shaun Kenny-Dowall bundled over to the left of the sticks before Matt Parcell extended the hosts’ lead five minutes later with a try of his own.
With 11 minutes to go, Ryan Hall scored down the left wing for the Robins, following approval from the video referee after a call for a knock-on in the build-up to Hall’s try.
Shortly before the final hooter, Kane Linnett broke the Salford line to touch down to the left of the posts.
