THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

MATCH REPORT | HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS 16-24 SALFORD RED DEVILS | THURSDAY 9TH OCTOBER

A second-half hat-trick from Krisnan Inu helped Salford Red Devils record a fifth consecutive victory, as they saw off an in-form Huddersfield Giants side.

Chris Atkin claimed the other Red Devils try, while Inu’s contribution with the boot was also crucial.

The Giants had started impressiveley, with Aidan Sezer and Lee Gaskell combining to send Leroy Cudjoe over for the opener, before some clever footwork from Sezer saw him increase the lead.
The Red Devils hit-back in the 29th minute, when Atkin once again proved how alert he is to the opportunity of an interception and picked off a pass from Darnell McIntosh, to race in from 50 metres.
Inu opened his account with the conversion and added a penalty on the stroke of half-time, meaning the gap was just four points at the break.

Halftime: Huddersfield Giants 12-8 Salford Red Devils
The Red Devils were in front within ten minutes of the restart. Tui Lolohea moved the ball wide to the left flank, allowing Inu to go over on an overlap and convert his own try to take the lead.
Inu was in again in the 59th minute, when he powered over the top of Jermaine McGillvary to claim his second try, but eight minutes later Sezer hit-back for the Giants.
Momentum then returned to Salford however, as Inu strolled over to complete his hat-trick.
