We took Jayden Nikorima down to Salford Youth Zone’s impressive new facility last week, ahead of the charity’s takeover game this Friday.
The halfback was wowed by the amount of activities on offer to the young people; including rock climbing, pool, table tennis, football, arts & crafts, music and much, much more.
Speaking after his tour, Nikorima said: “It’s an amazing space for young people to come and hang out after school, so if you’re around Manchester, I highly recommend coming here, checking out this space – because when you get your foot in the door, you won’t want to leave.”
SYZ provides thousands of young people somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to; with more than 20 activities on offer every session for young people aged eight to 19, or up to 25 for those with an additional need or disability.
Salford Red Devils have already been proudly supporting the Empower charity across both HideOut Youth Zone and the new Salford Youth Zone, through providing complimentary game tickets, transportation support and enriching opportunities for young members.
