We can confirm Jack Ormondroyd has joined Oldham RLFC with immediate effect.
Since joining the Reds in 2020, Ormondroyd’s front-footed, committed performances quickly turned him into a firm fan favourite.
His game was taken to new levels following the appointment of Head Coach, Paul Rowley, who transformed Ormondroyd into a damaging presence in our forward pack.
The prop forward has made 111 appearances in Salford colours, scoring seven tries and earning mass plaudits for his performances, particularly this season.
He captained the side on appearance 100 at Magic Weekend and has been a regular feature in the club’s Player of the Month voting.
Penning a final message to the Salford faithful, Ormondroyd has said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Salford, and I am sad it’s had to end the way it has.
“I’ve spent the last six years here, a big chunk of my career, and it’s all my children have known growing up watching Salford. In that time, I’ve met some great people and made friends for life.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to all the people who have supported me while I’ve been here.
“My family, who have supported and stuck by me through thick and thin, especially this year when it’s been tough.
“Rowls and Haggy, who have been there for the last few years and massively improved me as a player and a person, and the rest of the coaching and medical staff, they’ve all been brilliant with me.
“All the lads, I’ve had the pleasure of playing alongside some world-class players who have all helped me, and I’m lucky I now get to call them friends.
“And lastly, all the fans. They’ve been unbelievable for the last six years. They’ve helped us all out on the pitch every week with the noise, especially this year, sticking with us when it’s got hard.
“I really hope everything gets sorted out at this great club, and they get back where they belong, up at the top of the Super League.”
Everyone at the Club would like to thank Jack for his incredible efforts during his six-year stay at the Reds and wishes him all the best in his future career.
