GRADY PRAISES TEAM’S CHARACTER IN KR ‘DOG FIGHT’

Women’s Head Coach, Mike Grady has praised the character of his team after coming out on the winning side of a ‘dog fight’ with Hull KR.

Our girls won their third consecutive game at the weekend, rocking the Robins with three tries in the last 15 minutes of the contest.

With the scores locked at 16 apiece, two neat scrum plays, finished by Cailey Miller, and a powerful drive from Megan Bragg proved to be the difference.

The Reds know only two wins from their final two games will give them a chance of securing playoff rugby, and breaking into a competitive top four.

Speaking to our YouTube channel post-match, Grady gave his summery of an exhausting 80 minutes and specifically praised the character of his side.

“It was a tough game, a tough encounter – went right to the wire,” he began, “I’m just proud of the players for sticking in. It was a dog fight for one of a better word, and they stuck in, and got the win in the end.”

“Fantastic character from all the players. They stuck in, kept to the process. It would be easy not to in that type of game, but credit to them they did – we stuck in there and got the win.”
