Women’s Head Coach, Mike Grady is leaning on past performances for motivation ahead of this weekend’s double-header at the Salford Community Stadium.
Our girls will be taking to the main bowl at 12pm this Sunday as a curtain raiser before our men’s Betfred Super League clash with Castleford Tigers.
The assignment for Grady and Co. is Bradford Bulls, a team they have already faced and comprehensively beaten in their run to the Challenge Shield final.
Scoring 52 points without reply was perhaps one of the team’s standout performances of 2025 so far, and they’ll look to replicate that on Sunday to get our season back on track.
June, despite showing plenty of promise, was ultimately a disappointing one, winning just one of their four outings across the month.
Previewing this weekend’s game, Grady said: “It’s an opportunity. We can show people what we’re about. Hopefully they’ll be a big crowd coming in ready for the men’s game.
“We’re looking forward to it. It’s going to be tough for us as coaches to pick a side, everyone is chomping at the bit to play. So it’s a great opportunity and we’re looking forward to getting going on Sunday.”
Talking about the opposition, he continued: “During them early games against Bradford, Wakefield, etc, we were fantastic defensively. We stuck in and worked really hard, and it’s going to be no different (this time around).
“They’ll just come at us all day, so we need to be resilient for that full 80 minutes.”
