THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

GRADY AIMING FOR ‘MASSIVE’ PLAYOFF ACHIEVEMENT ON SUNDAY

Women’s Head Coach, Mike Grady says making the playoffs would be ‘massive’ for the group after a tough Championship season.

With another restructure of the league format, the likes of London Broncos and Cardiff Demons joined a second division already stacked with quality, making the race for a top four spot even harder.

But, with just one game remaining, Grady’s Reds have placed themselves within just victory over securing that fourth placed spot.

They do, however, have the mammoth task of travelling to an already-qualified and in-form Cardiff side on Sunday afternoon. Ahead of that challenge, Grady was asked what qualifying for the playoffs would mean to his side.

He said: “It would be massive. Especially this season, the league is a lot tougher with Cardiff (Demons), London (Broncos) coming in, Featherstone (Rovers) coming down, a big season from Swinton (Lions) and Hull KR have pushed towards the playoffs too.

“It’s been even harder and I didn’t think it’d be as tough as it has been, so to get to that top four would be a fantastic achievement for the second year running.”
