A try from Ethan Ryan and four Chris Hankinson penalty-goals had the sides locked at 12 apiece with an hour gone, but it was efforts from Josh Thewlis and Stefan Ratchford that stole the two points.
It was certainly a step in the right direction for Paul Rowley’s side, who were able to field the halfback combination of Jayden Nikorima and Danny Richardson in back-to-back games.
Combinations looked smoother, and the backs were able to benefit from the incredible work the forwards did, especially the likes of Chris Hill and Jack Ormondroyd.
