Marwan Koukash may not be at the helm of the Salford Red Devils this season but his support for the club remains unwavering.
This Good Friday the Red Devils take on the French as Catalan Dragons roar into town for the midday Bank Holiday clash with both sides hunting for two crucial points.
As a bonus to the Club, Marwan will match the gate receipts taken on the day enabling the Club to be even stronger going forward.
Marwan is challenging existing fans with the task of introducing or re-introducing a fan to the sport. Maybe it’s a Salford fan from back in the day who has stopped coming along at some point. Maybe it’s a work colleague you think might love the excitement of Super League. Club Chairman Andrew Rosler said: “Salford is still very much in Marwan’s heart – you can’t put in, both personally and financially, what he did without a lasting attachment and we are delighted he is as keen as ever to introduce our great game to a wider audience.
“In order for us to remain competitive in Super League we need to attract more fans on a weekly basis and we believe asking our existing supporter base to get involved is a terrific starting point.
“Unfortunately, we no longer have a traditional “derby” on Good Friday so our European clash with Catalan Dragons becomes a very important game for us and we need to get as many people in through the gate as we can. Hopefully, the Community will show with their support what this new Community Club means to them.”
