Salford Red Devils can confirm that we have received a total score of 12.65 in this year’s IMG grading, placing us 15th overall.
This result confirms that we will now begin planning for participation in the Betfred Championship for the 2026 season.
While there are areas for improvement, particularly in finance and stadium control, this year’s grading demonstrates continued progress in several key metrics, including digital growth and community engagement.
We remain committed to developing across all areas and look forward to building toward a strong 2026 campaign in the Betfred Championship.
Below is a breakdown of our scores across the grading categories:
Performance
Performance scores are calculated based on the average of the 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons.
As 2022’s 6th-place Super League finish has now been replaced by our 12th-place finish in 2025, our ranking has dropped by 0.3429 points.
Overall, Salford are ranked 8th in Performance.
Fandom
Fandom is measured across three areas: Attendance, Viewership, and Digital Presence across 2025
- Attendance – We earned 2 points for averaging crowds of over 3,000. We failed to hit the higher tier (2.5 points) for attendances exceeding 7,500. Our “Bring a Friend” initiative at the end of the season played a big role in achieving this score, thank you to everyone who took part!
- Viewership – We maintained 0.75 points out of a possible 1 point by having five or more games broadcast. We did not reach full marks as we were not among the top six most-watched teams.
- Digital – With thresholds for social following, engagement, and website traffic raised in 2025 to increase competitiveness, Salford achieved mid-table scores but earned bonus points in two areas for achieving over 10% year-on-year growth.
Finance
Finance figures are based on the November 2024 capture point.
Our financial score improved slightly due to an increase of 0.15 in non-centralised turnover as a percentage of total income.
Looking ahead, there are 2.2 additional points available in this category, making it a key focus for improvement going forward.
Stadium
Scoring in this category considers Facilities, Utilisation, Primacy, LED Screens, and Big Screen elements.
- We achieved full marks (1.5) for Facilities.
- For Utilisation, we earned 0.3206 out of 1 point, based on our average attendance as a percentage of capacity.
- Unfortunately, we received 0 points for Primacy, LEDs, and Big Screen, as these areas are beyond our control due to not owning the stadium.
Community
Community scoring reflects the performance of the club’s Foundation.
We scored 2 points out of 2.5, a 0.25-point decrease from last year, due to a reduction in Foundation income.
Minimum Standards
All clubs must meet minimum standards set by the RFL in the following areas:
Talent and Performance Pathway, Community Game Development, Breach of Operational Rules, Breach of Other Regulations, Insolvency, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Anti-Doping, and Environmental Sustainability.
We confirm that Salford Red Devils were deducted 0.25 IMG points for a breach of operational rules related to team selection in our Round 1 fixture against St Helens.
This brings our final overall IMG score to 12.65.
