THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

CHRIS HANKINSON JOINS LEEDS RHINOS

We can confirm Chris Hankinson has joined Leeds Rhinos with immediate effect.

After progressing through the ranks at the Reds, Hankinson spent time at numerous clubs in the Betfred Super League and Championship, before rejoining Salford in 2023.

He quickly became a versatile asset for Paul Rowley, making 21 appearances across 2024, scoring five tries, including a historic winner against St Helens that was voted our Try of the Season.

During 2025, Hankinson has made 13 appearances, scoring three tries and kicking 19 goals.

On leaving the Red Devils, Hankinson has said: “I’m obviously gutted it’s ended the way it has. Salford has been a big part of me back from when I joined the Scholarship at 16, so to see how things are playing out at the moment hurts.

“I just want to thank the supporters for sticking by the club, they turn up when it might be easy not to. And thanks to all the staff and players I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past two seasons.

“I really hope things work out and that everyone still involved with the club comes out the other side.”

Everyone at the club thanks Chris for his efforts in a Salford shirt over the last two years and wishes him all the best in the future.
