“We want to win it” – Lee Mossop

Salford Red Devils captain Lee Mossop has reaffirmed head coach Ian Watson’s belief that Salford can bring home the Coral Challenge Cup.
The Red Devils forward featured in the Coral Challenge Cup Semi-Final victory over Warrington Wolves and is hoping that Salford can finish the season on a high, with only Leeds Rhinos in the way of them clinching silverware.
Mossop said: “Potentially finishing the season with some silverware is massive for us as a team.
“We’re getting rewarded for the hard work we’ve put in. We’ve spoken about changing people’s perceptions of us as a club – we didn’t just want to be a flash in the pan when we got to the Grand Final last year. We want to build every single year.”

The 31-year-old will hope that his side can cement themselves as a competitive outfit by winning the Coral Challenge Cup, one year on from the Grand Final defeat to St Helens at Old Trafford.
“To lose any final is devastating and it does stay with you for a good while,” said Mossop.
“We’re not happy to just be taking part and being in a final. We want to win it, and if we’re going to change people’s perceptions of us as a team then we need to start winning these big games.”
Despite being one of the more senior players at the club, Mossop is still just as hungry to win every game.
“I’m captain now at the club, which means so much to me and my family. The ticker still works the same, I still want to win every game and win every challenge I come up against.
“To play in that Challenge Cup Final, and to lift that trophy for the Salford fans who’ve had to wait that long would be absolutely massive for me.”
