Andy Ackers and Tyler Dupree have both been selected in Shaun Wane’s 40-player extended England Men’s squad to prepare for international Rugby League in 2023.
England’s Men and Women return to international action on Saturday 29th April for the first time since last year’s Rugby League World Cup – a double-header with France at Warrington which is the launchpad for a game-wide fundraising effort in aid of the MND Association.
The England boss has named a youthful looking squad, as he looks to build momentum and assess his options ahead of the 2025 World Cup.
Our number nine was part of the squad last summer and has been recalled after an impressive start to the Betfred Super League season.
Despite a knee injury temporarily halting his progress last month, his return was a massive boost against Leigh Leopards, where we were victorious against Adrian Lam’s side for the second time this season.
Tyler Dupree – March’s Player of the Month – has been in flying form since joining the Club last May.
Scoring two tries already this season, his incredible running power and technical quality has been a catalyst for a lot of our success in the opening eight rounds.
His inclusion in the England squad is just reward for his performances and he’ll be looking to show his talent on the biggest stage against France.

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has said: “It is great that both lads are included in the England squad.
“They absolutely deserve to be in, I am not shocked one bit and it is a credit to their hard work, and ultimately their performances on the field. All the group are extremely proud of the lads and will be supporting them throughout.
“I look forward to more Salford players continuing to kick down the door and joining them going forward.
“We have a special group of boys with huge ambition and belief, and I expect to see more of them in the mix, joining Tyler and Andy in the future.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease has added: “After a successful off-season – where we saw record numbers of Red Devils’ players participate in the World Cup – it is fantastic to them rewarded even further for their on-field performances.
“Andy Ackers’ rise as one of Super League’s finest hookers continues and his inclusion is no surprise; but I am particularly happy for Tyler Dupree, who has blossomed into a mature and highly-skilled rugby player at such a young age.
“A huge congratulations to them both and I wish them the best of luck in the upcoming international break!”
