THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

Official Statement: New Dawn At Salford Red Devils

A new day is dawning at Salford Red Devils that will bring security, belonging and continued success to the Club.
“It’s time for the fans to have more of a say with a new era at the Club and a team of trustees who have a long-standing association with Salford.  I truly believe that this is how the Club will grow,” said Dr Marwan Koukash, the owner of Salford Red Devils, who last week announced that he would be handing the ownership of the Club back to the Community of Salford led by a board of Trustees.

“This is only a sideways move and my family and I will continue to be involved as avid supporters and am happy to be on hand to offer whatever advice and guidance to the Board of Trustees. We will update you on the members of the Board soon. We are also currently proactively developing a team of Trustees who are experts in areas such as accounting, legal services, marketing and PR and will include individuals who have already been involved with Salford.”

The Club and Foundation will share mutual objectives and be closely aligned with galvanising relationships with the community and schools across the region.  Re-launching our key stakeholder and business networking activities will also be focused on designed to offer Season Ticket-holders a directory of services and partners.
“We are very excited about the ambitious plans and the new season is looking to be a very exciting time on and off the pitch,” said Ian Blease, Chief Executive Officer, Salford Red Devils.  “What’s more we will also be announcing that one of the season ticket holders will join the Board, truly demonstrating our commitment to the fans and to the people of Salford and Rugby League fans across Greater Manchester.”
The Season Ticket programme was recently launched and in addition to individual Season Tickets there are also exciting packages for children and charities.  Match day experiences for the whole family will be extended and include a celebration and showcase of emerging talents from the local area.
There are exciting times ahead with a new crest to be launched later this month honouring the history and legacy of the Club and its Salford roots.
The new crest is a more traditional design featuring iconic symbols of Salford including the Ship Canal, Lift Bridge and Salford bees, as well as the Club’s iconic Willow Tree.  References to Salford will also be included and we look forward to launching it on our website on Tuesday evening at 18:00.
This will be followed by sponsor announcements including a new kit supplier, the first time it has partnered with any sports club in the UK.
The highly anticipated new road linking the The Salford Stadium, home to the Salford Red Devils, is also due to open at the end of the October, which will link the stadium to the Intu Trafford Centre and The Chill Factore Complex making coming to see the Red Devils a true day out for the whole family.
“Our focus now is very much on demonstrating our strengths that make the Salford Red Devils a phenomenal team, and encouraging all our fans to commit to coming to all of our games.  The players will also play their part in this and are looking forward to getting involved in all of these activities and sharing an even better relationship with the community so that we share a joint commitment ensuring continued success on the pitch,” Blease continued.
The Club looks forward to developing an ongoing communication with fans and the media to show its commitment to being a Club for the people.
