Salford Red Devils’ new signing Morgan Escaré has labeled the club’s head coach Ian Watson ‘the best coach in Super League’.
The acquisition of the French international was revealed during a Q&A session on RDTV last week, with director of rugby and operations Ian Blease confirming he had been recruited by the Red Devils on a contract that will keep him at the The Salford Stadium for three years from 2021.
Escaré said: “When my agent called me and said Ian Watson wanted me to sign for Salford, I was very happy.
“For me, he is the best coach in Super League and I am excited to work for him now.”

He added: “I want to win trophies for the club and for the fans. It’s a big opportunity for me to sign for Salford, and when I put the jersey on I will give my best every game.
“Thank you to everyone at Salford, I’m very excited for the start of next season.”
The admiration runs in both directions, as was clear from Watson’s remarks on his side’s latest addition.
“I think he’ll be a perfect fit for us to be fair, with the way we play and the style we play in,” said Watson.
“We know Morgan and what potential he has got and how good he can be.”
Watson also echoed Escaré’s desire for success with the club, making the point that his squad have that winning mentality.
“That’s what we’re about as a group. We want to make sure we compete and win things, so players like Morgan can fulfil their ambitions of being really successful,” he added.
“I think Morgan will fit in our team really, really well and you’ll see some excitement from Morgan over the next few years.”
Escaré will have the opportunity to link up with his new teammates and coaching staff, during a trial period once the Red Devils resume training.
Supporters can hear everything Watson and Escaré had to say on RDTV, in addition to the thoughts of Ian Blease and director Paul King.

The signing of the 28-year-old follows the arrival of Andy Ackers from Toronto Wolfpack, who Watson offered his verdict on during the previous week’s Q&A session.
If supporters would like to contribute to the club’s continued recruitment, they can do so by becoming a squad builder.
