THE ORIGINAL RED DEVILS

George Griffin voted MVP and Defensive player of the year!

George Griffin has been voted by his team mates as MVP and defensive player of the year for Salford Red Devils.
The Salford second-rower has earned the title of Salford Defensive Player of the Year, with a total of 822 Super League tackles this season.
The winner was chosen through a vote from each of the Red Devils players on who they thought had brought the most value to the playing defence throughout the season.
George said: “I always try and give my all each and every week so it’s great to get some recognition from the lads.”
Following in his two older brothers footsteps, George signed for Salford in 2015 and has shown an incredible effort since.
Head coach Ian Watson said: “George works incredibly hard day in, day out and he’s always been an absolute pleasure to coach and to work with.
“He’s outstanding, the fittest and most hard-working player in Super League. He’ll be missed next season but Castleford have secured a great player.”
